HELP! My hands are going numb...

Many people mistakingly believe that any numbness in the fingers or hands is due to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. In reality, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome usually affects only the thumb, index and middle finger. 

On the Contrary, a much more common condition called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) may cause numbness in all five fingers or just in the ring and little finger. TOS is usually worse when driving, first waking up (especially if laying on the affected side), and when holding a cell phone up to your ear.
